The inframince review, research journal on image and photography, devotes its number 15 to a reflection on the ways of representing our contemporary environments, in particular through the augmented forms of the image.
An increasing amount of images are now produced by machines and increasingly directed to other machines. They map, measure, evaluate and one of the questions then is how to insert practice and thought into this dialogue of machines.
This issue is produced in dialogue with the research project Beyond Operative Images led by the ENSP and UQAM. It brings together texts by Danièle Méaux, Jean Arnaud, Guillaume Pascale, Hito Steyerl, Jean-Roch Siebauer and an interview with Eric Tabuchi. It is an opportunity to reflect on new modalities of the image and how they reconfigure our environments.
