Born in 1957 in Liberia, he moved to Ghana in 1981. Student and teacher at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, he majored in photojournalism. He published in numerous newspapers and magazines and exhibited regularly (especially in Bamako in 1996 on the theme of the funeral). The work presented here describes a journey of several years in which Abel photographed, with decency and sensitivity, the journey of a train and the daily lives of its passengers, including women who use it to go to market. This series was conducted during the 1980s. Isaac Bruce Hudson Vanderpuije, Ganiyu Owada, Gerald L. Annan-Forson
Snapshots of an Era
France has contributed to the celebrations of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Independence of Ghana Ghana photo exhibition entitled Memories which was part of an approach to promote photography in Ghana. His goal was to preserve a precious heritage for future generations. During collection of photographic equipment throughout the country, the Crusaders were the most diverse personalities and styles more contrasted, which has led the organizers to a treatment and a very special presentation.
Three photographers, all freelance, each with a story to tell and a real talent to do so deserve to be distinguished.
