Sicily is a magical place especially for us, northern Italians, who live in the fog and dream of the sea. Sicily is the place of art, gastronomy, culture, intact nature, but c is also a land of contradictions, speculation and oppression. It is the contrast that always fascinated me in Sicily: past-present, beautiful-ugly, true false, but this obvious contrast takes, for us who come from far away, a positive, fascinating connotation, almost as if the Light, this splendid light that envelops everything has transformed it into a mysterious and beautiful riddle.
