Photographer, author and musician, Nicolas Comment is used to sentimental journeys and other photobiographical wanderings. His series are set in Mexico City, Prague or Tangier, these mythical places, literary dens … “Cavale” is part of this tradition of “psychogeographical wandering”. Geopolitical walk, intimate fiction.
The year is 2019. Laura Serani, artistic director of the Planche (s) Contact festival, invites Nicolas Comment for an artistic residency in Deauville. Thus begins “Cavale”: a protean photo-literary series which reads like a painting with multiple entries recounting the imaginary run of a woman who frees herself from her bonds; played by Milo McMullen.
Photographs, accompanied by a text set to music, the “glue that binds the images together”. But above all a circle of writers, filmmakers, liberated women and other thugs in reference. Nicolas Comment photographs in the past and the future a Deauville haunted by illustrious ghosts.
