Les naufragés de Malte

All across the deserts and the Mediterranean to flee their country and try to reach Europe. They come to most of East Africa, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea or the Sudan even if the whole continent, especially the African conflicts, is represented.
Board since the Libyan coast, where the crossing to reach Italy and Sicily on boats overcrowded trades at around a thousand dollars, they fail to Malta failing to bring closer to the heart of Europe, the coveted Eldorado . Shortages of gasoline, engine failures, storms, coastguards and often sinking to end the quest for a better life.
Tourist paradise for those arriving by air, the small island of Malta can look like a penal colony for those arriving by sea
From spring to autumn, there are more than a thousand each month come aground on the coast of Malta. Stuck on this island a few hundred km2, the newspaper of the shipwrecked fortune is far from their original dreams. Poorly accepted by the people, buffeted between centers and detention centers open, forced to work daily, refugees cling as much as their dreams elsewhere.
Through images of calm and testimony gathered during several visits to the island, Pierre Le Tulzo reflects the impasse and the violence of the situation of the shipwrecked in Malta.
