There is in the relationship of photography to the urban area close relationship of reciprocity, a contemporary mentality, equivalence historic destinations likely to meet? Photography is involved in the process of construction – deconstruction of the city, a sort of vandalism which seems to want both the probe and the skin to try to extirpate a memory … The three cities (Marseille, France ; Sarajevo, Bosnia; Odessa, Ukraine) reveal multiple temporalities of both current and historical, "resonating" from a fund of reminiscences open it emanates from these photographs the memory at once tenuous and persistent painting landscapes classics and ancient tragedies which combines the strength of the contemporary documentary image.

Monique Deregibus is a photographer and professor at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux – Arts in Lyon. “The Cyprus House, 2009-2013” is the third book produced in collaboration with Filigranes, Paris.
Each of the photographic series, inherited from a history of the conceptual landscape, is devoted to specific territories, sometimes near or far, always showing a strong interest for the unconscious reminiscences contained in the plan as well as for the notions of architecture and territory urban. These spaces, most of which are recorded in an editorial work, can be read as forming the abandoned scene of human tragedies.
