“Inspired by an intense love of photography, these pages do not in any way seek to draw up a theory. Maybe they even assume, in their nomadic life, such a project would be impossible. They attempt identify one of the strangest powers, often described as “reality effect”.
Single source of pleasure at the beauty of the world, an endless questioning of the nature of reality, on the status of historical events and social violence, the changing definition of art, memory or the self, marker effects of technology on our perceptions, and above all of the plasticity of time, this effect is also the reason for a constant questioning of photography itself.

Born in Paris in 1949.
His work is in numerous public and private collections including the Musée National d’Art Moderne (Pompidou Center), the European House of Photography, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the National Museum of Fine Arts in Tokyo, Camerawork / Howard Stein Collection in New York.
In addition to his teaching at the ENSP of Arles, he was invited several years at the International Center of Photography (New York) and the Ecole des Arts Appliqués de Vevey.
It is currently at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dublin.
