Où commence le ciel ? Cette question apparemment légère a été posée par Corinne Mercadier à quinze auteurs: architectes, artistes, écrivains, chorégraphe, danseuse, plasticiens… (Stéphane André, Mary Canal, Alain Fleischer, Christian Gattinoni, Liliane Giraudon, François Grey, Denis Lanzenberg, Daniel Larrieu, Philippe Le Meur, Sabine Macher, Jean-Baptiste Para, Mireille Roll, Paul Louis Rossi, François Seigneur, Jean-Jacques Viton).
Préface Charles-Arthur Boyeret aussi à trois auteurs photographes. Tous ont cherché un lieu, donné leur point de vue, traversé les mythes, retourné la question dans tous les sens en expliquant par des écrits et des images où et comment, pour eux, le ciel a commencé.

Corinne Mercadier

Artiste, Photographe

Lives and works in Paris.
Represented by the Gallery Les filles du calvaire in Paris. She has regularly exhibited since 1998 at the Galerie Les filles du calvaire, Paris, and at the Galerie Alan Klotz in New York in 2006 and 2008.
In 2001 she was awarded the Altadis Prize. In 2003, she obtained an order from the Reattu Museum and the Ministry of Culture, where she realized La Suite d’Arles, exhibited during the International Meeting of Photography. In 2013 she was a finalist in the Marc Ladreit Academy of Fine Arts Prize at La Charrière.
It is present in the collections of La Maison Européenne de la Photographie, FNAC, and the National Library, the Polaroid Collection. She published most of her books at Filigranes Editions, Où commence le ciel ?, Dreaming Journal, La Suite d’Arles, une monographie en 2007, and Devant un champ obscur, in 2012.
François Seigneur né en 1942 dans l’Orne, diplômé de l’école Boulle en 1961, de l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs en 1964. Depuis plus de 30 ans, il explore le champ de l’architecture, réactualisant ses problématiques et abolissant ses confins. Il s’engage dans cette voie sur les pas de Claude Parent, avec qui il collabore. De 1970 à 1972, il travaille avec Jean Nouvel puis avec Gilbert Lézénès.

Bernard Plossu

Plossu Bernard, born in South Vietnam in 1945, he grew up surrounded by photographs of the desert taken by his father when he went skiing on the dunes of the Sahara in 1937 with Roger Frisian-Roche. Modesty, sensuality, emotion, joy, here is what is the “sap” that already permeate the images of the self that landed in Mexico in 1965 and 1967 to join his grandparents. Charles-Arthur Boyer is the pseudonym of Marc Donnadieu. Born in 1960, Jerada (Morocco), it is, since September 2010, curator for contemporary art at LaM – Lille Métropole Museum of Modern Art, Contemporary Art and Art Brut (Villeneuve d’Ascq) , having been the director of the Regional Fund of Contemporary Art Normandy from 1999 to 2010. He is currently a member of the Commission of acquisitions Photography (2010/2012) of the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain, having been a member of the Arts Commission of acquisitions from 2001 to 2003.
