Rencontre Anaïs Boudot

La colonie intérieure

Anaïs Boudot is currently deeply exploring photographic techniques, occasionally integrating series created with photosensitive gelatin on glass, often enhanced with paint. Her creations lie on an indeterminate line between contemporary and past. During her residency, she aims to open new perspectives for these glass images, seeking to establish a connection between heritage and contemporary art, notably using the form of stained glass. This approach aims to redefine and enrich the perception of her works by integrating historical and artistic elements.

Michel Poivert, in his text, highlights Anaïs Boudot’s commitment to photographic experimentation. With her project “Jour le Jour,” she explores the transformation of modern photographic practices by constructing a dialectical operation that seeks to immortalize disappearance. Poivert explains that in our daily lives, we compulsively record images with our smartphones, creating personal archives of memories, notes, and favorites. However, these images are often doomed to obsolescence: they are erased, forgotten, or destroyed when changing devices. This paradox, where digital images embody modernity while being ephemeral, is at the heart of Anaïs Boudot’s reflection, as she attempts to capture and give lasting meaning to this transience.

Anaïs Boudot

Photographe

Anaïs Boudot, born in Metz in 1984. French photographer graduated from the National School of Photography in 2010 and from the Fresnoy studio in 2013, Anaïs Boudot today continues to work around the exploration of photographic means. By constantly going back and forth between film and digital, she seeks to question the specific means of this medium and ventures into the field of hybridization. Landscape and light – like evocations of mental spaces, in the field of remembering – are found at the heart of his work. She questions the boundaries of the visible and engages in these interstices created between time and movement.
