Inframince number 12: the tactical image
The magazine inframince, journal of research on the image and the photography, dedicates its number 12 to a reflection on the tactical uses of the image.
The image is today the point of convergence between two fundamental movements: on the one hand the hegemony of the communication and on the other the increasing militarization of the exchanges and the spaces. In this complex situation, the image functions less as a tool of representation than as a tactical object. Thinking the image today requires an understanding of its uses and misappropriations.
With texts by WJT Mitchell, Caroline Bernard, Maxime Boidy, Nicolas Gourault, Nicolas Giraud and an interview with Emmanuel Guy this delivery of the magazine inframince studies how thought and technique of the image are instrumentalised and used as weapons in the conquest minds as much as territories.
